If you want to use the Apple Remote with PowerPoint, it IS possible (and free). Download iRed Lite (see the link on www.freemacware.com) and configure it manually to send left and right arrow key signals when using PowerPoint. NOTE: When setting the left and right arrow commands for the remote buttons, you need to tell it to activate PowerPoint. Just type "PowerPoint" in that field. I tried this setup out. It works perfectly for moving back and forth in a slideshow. There's no need to spend any more money User uploaded file

Thanks much for suggested option with iRed lite. It seems possible, but I'm not familiar with apple script (I'm a new Mac convert to MacBook Pro, and now I'm truly a convert, but now a neophyte)....Can anyone walk me the the options to set in ired lite. You recommend entering Powerpoint in "that field", and I've read the ired lite manual, but can't figure out which field...sorry, this is probably a dumb question, but help would be appreciated. help with what I enter in which fields would be appreciated. I feel as if it's close and plausible, but no cigar yet.
