mountain lion print wifi wireless (Canon)

My Canon MP560 printer would not print over WiFi after the upgrade. It printed fine connected to USB. The printer confirmed connection to my WiFi network (manually connected with password on printer).

I didn't add the printer in the correct sequence to get it to work. What I had to do was:
(1) delete the printer from System Preferences\Print & Scan

(2) connect the printer to the same wireless network, manually entering password via printer display (I had done this previously but not in correct sequence)

(3) plug printer in via USB

(4) add printer from System Preferences\Print & Scan

(5) three printers were found when I added. One was the MP560 with a string of numbers, the other was MP560 Bonjour, the other was MP560 Scanner. I added them all.

After unplugging the USB, the MP560 was the only printer showing still connected to the network via WiFi. It's working for now.

I still can't print via AirPrint from the iPad3, so if anyone can help that would be great. (all are connected to the same network)

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356 doesn't show the MP560 as being AirPrint compatible.
