Automator action "Filter Finder Items" behaving oddly

I am sure I am missing something trivial, but can anyone explain to me why the two following set ups of the "Filter Finder Items" do NOT return the same results:

1) Date Created is Today

2) Date Created is in the last 1 days (also tried with 0 days)

On the same note: I want to select files created earlier than two weeks ago, but when I set the condition to "Date Created is not in the last 2 weeks" the results also include files created TODAY. How do I exclude the files created today? I cannot see an option like "Date Created is NOT today" and (as also implicitly indicated in my first question) I still get files created today when I add "Date created is not in the last 1 (or 0) days".
