Using two iPads simultaniously: Sync and Share Keyboard

I will soon be using 2 3rd gen. iPads as my only computer (+an iPhone). I've been using one sine April as my only computer and it's working great with the regular need for having two windows.

-- Ideas for how to best sync the iPads so they stay the same?

-- can I share a single Apple bluetooth keyboard between them? How?

Thanks,

Patrick

If you backup with iCloud and I assume that you do since you have no computer - set up the new iPad by restoring from the backup of the first iPad.

Turn on Automatic Downloads in Settings>Store>Automatic Downloads for apps, books and music on both devices, so that on when you download on one device, it download to the other.

Enable Photo Stream on both devices. Setup iCloud identically on both devices.

What does this mean?

"it's working great with the regular need for having two windows"

You can pair the keyboard with either of the iPads and use one with both.

Thanks, Demo! Yes we use iCloud. Great to know that will keep most things is sync.

I should have typed: it's working great for me, except it gets swkward fast switching between research and writing, among other things that need two "windows."

Keyboard: So I can pair the kayboard with both iPad and leave both with bluetooth turned on, and it will work with whichever iPad has a text entry window in play? Or did I not understand?

OK now it's my turn to clarify. I don't know if the keyboard will pair with both iPads at the same time. I just meant that you can use the keyboard with either iPad. You would have to try it when you get the new iPad. I guess I should have assumed that's what you wanted to do but the "two windows" statement confused me. You original question does say "simultaneously" but I lost sight of that.

As long as you use apps that sync with iCloud and have Data and documents turned on, set up both iPads exactly the same way, then iCloud should keep them identical.

With a quick Google search, I found this answer about pairing multiple devices with one keyboard. While the question is not posed directly - the Best Answer infers that if you do not disconnect Bluetooth on one of the iPads, you will end up typing on both devices up to a point - and then the keyboard will stop.

Read it and see what you think.
