How can I fix getting the error 11111 when submitting a podcast to Apple?
I am starting a new podcast but when I submit the link to Apple through iTunes I get the error 11111.
I am starting a new podcast but when I submit the link to Apple through iTunes I get the error 11111.
I've been dealing with this error for 2 days. I clicked on the link you provided, and I was magically able to submit my 'cast. Thanks!!! :-)
I am getting the 111111 error code when submitting a new podcast to iTunes.
Unfortunatley for me you code didn't work 😟
Have you any other suggestions please
That's the only workaround I've come across. It mightn't be a bad idea to check that everything is OK with your feed - would you like to post its URL?
hi
yea sure https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1048518/Podcast/apple-answer-cast.xml
Have had some help with my settings all ready from Steve the developer of FEEDER and he says all look ok also I can subscribe in itunes via File-Subscribe to podcast
Your feed is not valid.
Plus hosting your feed and media files on Dropbox = BAD IDEA.
You need to move to a more dedicated media host. Dropbox causes lots of issues.

The feed is OK in general, and the server does accept byte-range requests which is a requirement by Apple, but all the URLs are https (this seems to be what is causing FeedValidator to see the URLs as not valid) and though it works OK in the iTunes application I don't know whether this is an issue with the Store. If you can find a way of using http:// that would be preferable.
Also: your mp3 file has a space in the filename. The feed is handing this correctly by substituting the code %20, but it's bad practice (spaces are not allowed in a URL) and I would recommend changing it - the usual method is to substitute an underscore.
However that is unlikely to be the cause of the problem, which is either the https issue or a problem at the Store end. It may sort itself out if you wait a day or so: if not you could try emailing them at podcasts 'at' apple.com but don't be surprised if you get a form answer telling you how to submit a podcast.
Thank you for your feed back.
I do realalise that I am very new to this and am soaking up loads of advice for more experienced podcasters but at the moment I still want to go with dropbox or at least get to the bottom of the existing problem
Thanks have removed the space in file name and will be adding later tonight with out the s in https will start from scratch in Feeder and then submit again
have also sent an email to apple to see what they have to say.
I will keep you updated
Start by asking Dropbox whether you can serve your files with http not https. A quick look at their Help suggests that they are geared to hosting rather than website hosting, but you could check on this.
Hi have been looking at dropbox do you think that this answer below would work??
Force a file or folder to download
Using the new direct link above, you can further modify the URL to force the browser to download the file, rather than handle it natively. To force a file download, append a direct link with
?dl=1
. For example:https://dl.dropbox.com/s/xttkmuvu7hh72vu/MyFile.pdf
(Note that the URL begins with dl.dropbox.com, as instructed in the section above.)
Becomes:
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/xttkmuvu7hh72vu/MyFile.pdf?dl=1
Enter the new URL in the address field of your browser and it should automatically download, instead of open, the file.
Public folder links
Accounts created before July 31st, 2012 are pre-populated with a Public folder. All the functionality of Public folders (and more) is available from anywhere in your Dropbox by creating a Dropbox link.
The primary difference between Dropbox links and Public links are that unmodified Public links will render in your browser by default rather than open in a preview window on the Dropbox website. If you would rather force the Public link to directly download rather than render in the browser, add
?dl=1
to the end of the URL, as described above. You do not want the file forced to download. Your media files must be directly linked to so that they play in a browser, not download, and as I say I suspect that though the iTunes application will handle https the Store may have problems with it, though I don't know for certain. (https is a secure protocol and requires the requesting application to have a certificate.)
thank you for that have just found another piece of info and taking off the s would seem the way to go. http://www.jasonrhode.com/howtopodcast If you have time to view this go to the messages there are only 6 and the 5th one says take off the s. Now what I dont know is when I put info into feeder I remove the s there as well. Have just tried it and get the same error code 11111. But of course I still dont know if its a itunes problem
Dude that link still doesn't work, it does the same thing, get the same error message time and time again. I have tried using different PC's, different itunes accounts everything :C , I hope they fix the problem soon
Hey thanks for the heads up
Looks like its iTunes and not me then!!!
