charging and playing ipod at same time in car

Their car stereo only has an AUX input and not a USB connector.

The car should charge the iPod through the USB cable, so you don't need the cigarette lighter charger. Just try using the cable that came with your iPod and see if it charges when connected to the car stereo. That's how mine works.

Sorry, I misread. I used to have a Belkin iPod accessory that plugged into the cig lighter socket and out of it came a 30 pin dock connector and an 1/8" aux jack. That worked great, but was stolen out of my car along with my iPod. Years later I found something similar made by Monster. That was great too. It worked with my iPod, iPhone and iPad, charging and playing at the same time. But for some reason it doesn't work with the 6th gen Nano. It works sometimes but the Nano gets really hot and then shuts down.

Anyway, you may find something similar. If I find a link I'll post it, but all I've seen lately are those terrible FM transmitter deals. For me I found a better solution in a new car stereo with USB direct for $99.

And one more from Kensington. Looks a bit messier than the other two but gets better ratings and a higher price to match.
