charging and playing ipod at same time in car

Hi

We just purchased a new vehicle that has just the aux in plug for the ipod. We have the ipod nano 5th generation. Very disappointed that our vehicle did not come with the USB plug to operate through the radio, but trying to resolve issues now. Does anyone know of a connector that will plug into our ipod and then split off to go into the aux and into the cig lighter for the usb as one cable? You would think that in this day and age they would have something like that so we don't have to use two different cables.

Thank You,

Linda

Sorry, I misread. I used to have a Belkin iPod accessory that plugged into the cig lighter socket and out of it came a 30 pin dock connector and an 1/8" aux jack. That worked great, but was stolen out of my car along with my iPod. Years later I found something similar made by Monster. That was great too. It worked with my iPod, iPhone and iPad, charging and playing at the same time. But for some reason it doesn't work with the 6th gen Nano. It works sometimes but the Nano gets really hot and then shuts down.

Anyway, you may find something similar. If I find a link I'll post it, but all I've seen lately are those terrible FM transmitter deals. For me I found a better solution in a new car stereo with USB direct for $99.
