"1 update available" Mac App Store - already installed

My Mac App Store icon has had a 1-badge for weeks now. When I open the app and go the updates tab, it says "1 update available" and underneath shows the Things 2.0.1 update. I have already installed this; it even says "installed" to the right of the window. How do I get the Mac App Store to recognize that it's installed? Thanks.

Hi again, found this from another part of the forum:

'Drag & drop the app into the Trash. Don't empty the Trash. Try updating the app. The MAS should now download the latest version to your Mac. If the app updates successfully, you can empty the Trash.'

I had to delete the app completely and then I reinstall throught app store. Hope this helps.

exactly the same problem. I installed iPhoto Versio 9.4.1. It said not enough space. So I deleted duplicate files and trashed stuff I didn't need. That I completed what appears to be a successful install. but the darn "1 Installation" message remains conspicous, both on the App Store Dock icon and in the top menu after I've opened the App Store. It shows me only the iPhoto 9.4.1 update with "Installed" showing at the far right.

I don't know whether to ignore it or to take it seriously as an indication that my previous install was actually incomplete or defective. I suppose I have not choice but to trash it, reinstall, and see what happens.
