"Safari Can't Open Page" but the page opens in other browsers??

Hope someone can help with this strange issue. I get the message:

"Safari can't open the page https://secure-en-%0aadmc.premiumtv.co.uk/internalLogin/loginProcess/0,,13061,00 .html because the page address is invalid"

However the same page opens in Chrome.

The page prior to this step is a log in page where I enter my username and password for that site, as soon as I hit enter the error message appears. It's as if it doesn't even try to open the page, the message appears that quickly.

I have enabled cookies, emptied the cache, re-started and searched the forums for similar issues. The fact that it opens on other browers is what's getting to me. I've only just moved over to Safari after being a long time Chrome user and ideally only want to use one browsers and not have to switch between the two.

I'm running the Safari 6.0 on Mountain Lion.

Appreciate any help!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.

Click: Remove All Website Data

Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

If that doesn't help, back to Safari > Preferences. Select the Advanced tab.

Click Change Settings to the right of Proxies. That will prompt the Network / Proxies pane in System Preferences.

If any of the boxes on the left are selected, deselect, quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If it's not a proxy issue, back to the menu bar, click Safari > Reset Safari

Click: Clear History

Deselect the other boxes then click Reset.

Try Safari again.

This is the login page. When I enter my username and password I get the error message:

"Safari can't open the page https://secure-en-%0aadmc.premiumtv.co.uk/internalLogin/loginProcess/0,,13061,00 .html because the page address is invalid"

When I do the same in Chrome, it lets me in with no error message. Once I'm successfully logged in (in Chrome) the web page address is: http://www.en.bpl.admcsport.com/page/Home/

The page the Safari is showing as an error message must be some intermediary page used to validate the login which Safari doesnt like for some reason.

I had same problem (Lion + Safari 6) and found it was seemed to be Intego Virus Barrier X6 configuration (after several updates).

Virus Barrier OFF; HTTPS was OK and with

Virus Barrier ON; HTTPS was blocked.

For me the way to fix was quite easy - Reset Intgo Virus Barrier to Default:

Preferences >> Avanced >> Configuration revert to default

I hadn't changed any settings at all in Virus Barrier so it seems something in the update process.

Hope it helps...

I am having the same issue as bigbaldbaby.

I don't have "Configuration revert to default" in

Safari >> Advanced >>

I only have

"Universal Access", "Style Sheet (None Selected)",

Default encoding: "Western (ISO Latin 1)"

Proxies "Change Settings...."

and (check/uncheck) Show Develop menu in menu bar.

Is there anywhere else I can go to reset this so-called Intgo Virus Barrier to default?

I'm having this same issue and can't get rid of it on my iPad 3, I tried every thing and it only happens on photobucket I get that same message. I tried to see if I switched something on but can't find it and what would cause it.

It doesn't seem to effect my apps on photobucket only if I'm trying to view a photo some one has put on the web or try to log in through safari.

Can any one direct me on iPad where the problem.

Thanks

Rino

**I think the error is caused by a warning at Preferences>Privacy Under "Fraudulent Sites". A warning symbol that reads something like... Google safe search has not updated in XX days.

Boot your computer in safe mode.

Restart and hold the "shift" button at the chime, release at the Apple Logo. (Boot takes a bit longer than normal here)

Once restarted, Log in (if applicable) Open Safari and go to the sites that would not open. They should work fine now.

Restart

Continue to open your computer in normal mode and this should fix the problem.

It worked for me.
