Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter: Problem remains even after applying the 1.2 Update

When I first began using the Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter on my MB Air (13" mid-2011 model) running OSX Lion (10.7.4), it worked flawlessly. But then the software update recommended a Thunderbolt software update (version 1.2) that caused the Mac to beome «victimized» by hangs, just as described in tech support aticle TS4303 (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4303). However, applying the 1.2.1 patch (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1544) helped, but not entirely. PLEASE help – this is an issue which clearly has to be brought to a stop – so Apple please provide us with a better patch!

Since I just searched for support threads tied to the Thunderbolt update, I wrongfully posted my first entry about this in a different (desktop-related) forum (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4238943?answerId=19378545022#19378545022).

Hi,

This is the thread that matches my config. So if I knew how to close the other thread, I would. However, the only attribute options I see are «This solved my question» and «This solved my question», neither which fit.

No, I didn't try deleting [all] my Network Locations. Why would I? But if you mean the Thunderbold Ethernet-specific ones, then yes I have. The problem is that most of the time I use the Wi-Fi Network [Location], and the sudden/unpredictable system irresponsiveness strikes even when no physical/cabled network is active. And since the Wi-Fi Network [Location] remains unchanged (…and worked flawlessly before the Thunderbold Ethernet affair began), I haven't seen any viable reason why I should deleting it either. Do you?

Well, in despair I tried out your suggestion anyway. But did it help? No. For the first time in my life I’m experiencing that a hardware patch has turned my Mac into something like a Windows 95 PC - unpredictably unstable. HORRIBLE!!! If Apple doesn’t fix this very soon I don't know what I’ll do; a Mac Air is a beautiful tool - but only as long as it's reliable.
