since mountain lion update problems

Ever since i have updated to mountain lion on my 2011 imac i have issues where it crashes on awake from sleep.

I have to shut down and reboot several times a week.

My wireless symbol will be blank with an explanation mark, and no apps open or function.

when i reboot all is fine but my volume will be maxed, that is annoying.

anyone else finding this to be an issue.?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

Hi, this has worked for a few...

Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712

10.7…

System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.

10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.

The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.

For 10.5/10.6, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

208.67.222.222

208.67.220.220

Click OK.

Also, turn off IPv6:

System Preferences » Network » AirPort » TCP/IP tab » Configure IPv6

Or whatever Interface you use.

On the crashes...

open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem for clues.

another thing i found odd was i am running the free sophos antivirus.

it seemed to be running two instances of it at the same time at certain times.

I removed that and reinstalled the newest version that is appearantly written for mountain line.

perhaps that was causing some problems

we'll see

well no go yet/ it locked up on me again.

i did try your suggestions BD aqua.

im not sure if blue tooth is the issue as my mouse and keyboard are BT and they work fine. also i want my system to be able to sleep so i don't want to try turning that off yet.

i have even disabled airport and am now hooked up with just ethernet.

any other thoughts on why at times when it wakes it hangs?
