Do you have to have any sort of monthly plan to use Messages and FaceTime on the iPad?

When I try to log into Messages or FaceTime before I press 'Next' after signing i am taken back to the sign in. It won't allow me to go on. I'm using my correct iTunes account to sign in. Does someone have a solution to my problem?

Since it is not accepting your "correct" ID - Tap on your Apple ID in either app or in both apps and sign out. Restart the iPad and then try to sign in again.

Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button
