Using Apple Magic Mouse with MBA and Mountain Lion. The mouse flies over the page at the slightest touch (both horizontal and vertical) even when I put all settings on slow and turn off the options in System Preferences. I connected a cheap "USB wired Microsoft Mouse" and it controls just fine. I hate Microsoft but what am I doing wrong with my Apple mouse?

What are you doing wrong with your Magic Mouse? Using it! I have the same problem using the Magic Mouse, am fed up having to replace batteries so often, and recently I've become concerned about the radiation. I think it's time for me to go back to a USB mouse.
I just found MagicPrefs which, among many other things, allows me to turn off two and three finger scrolling in order to eliminate inadvertent scrolling. In order to scroll I must intentionally lift all but one finger from the mouse. Get MagicPrefs here for FREE: http://magicprefs.com
I'm now using rechargable batteries in my Magic Mouse.
