New event on iCal with no alert appears on iPhone with alert

I believe this problem has only started since upgrading to OS X 10.8.

If I create an event in iCal on my Mac (it can be timed or all day), and even though it doesn't have an alert set, it appears on my iPhone (iOS 5.1.1) calendar with an alert.

I use iCloud for syncing and I've checked in my iCloud calendar and that does not have an alert, so the problem appears to be between iCloud and the iOS calendar.

Does anyone else have a similar problem and/or know how to resolve it? I see from a search there have been problems with alerts using Google calendar but can't find anything close to the above.

Exactly the same issue - just raised a discussion myself - looks to be a common bug.

Lets hope 10.8.2 fixes it!

I am also noticing this behavior. I initially attributed it to 3rd party software, but the problem consitantly appears without the 3rd party app running.

To sum up: Set event on iCal with no alert, sync via iCloud, Event now has an alert on iOS calendar. This is not desired.

I've upgraded my iPhone to iOS 6 and the problem has gone. If I create an entry in iCal with no alert, it appears in Calendar on my phone (via iCloud) also with no alert. It'd be good to hear whether that solves it for others too - hope so.
