Q: Wireless Printer

I just got a new Macbook Air and I am trying to set up my wireless printer (HP officejet) and I got it all set up in system preferences, but when I print something it says that the printing job is completed successfully, but nothing prints. Is this a computer or printer problem? What steps should I take now?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

Seems like the printer isn't talking to the computer.  How did you set this up?  Did you use the installation disk that came with the printer?  The HP wifi printers must be set up in a very specific way using the installation disk or sofware downloaded from the HP site.  I'm guessing you didn't do this.

Here's a good general article about printing on a Mac: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4670

If your printer is listed as supported under the "Printer and Scanner Software" link near the top, then you should be able to use the "How to Add a Printer" method described in this article.  Then Apple would send you driver sofware and updates.
