How to burn Microsoft Powerpoint onto a DVD disc..

I need to start making a Microsoft Powerpoint (2010) with music but am uncertain how I would burn it onto a disc when finished..

What kind of disc would I need and what format would I need to save it as to avoid losing any data?

The disc and presentation is going to be created on my MacBook Pro, but would need to be playable on a PC.

Hope this isn't a stupid question but i have NO idea - I just got a Mac so I am really new with this...

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

If purchased the SuperDrive with your Macbook Pro, it supports these formats:

Apple reports that this slot-loading "SuperDrive" (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) has a maxium write speed of "8x DVD-R, DVD+R; 4x DVD-R DL (double layer), DVD+R DL (double layer), DVD-RW, DVD+RW; 24x CD-R; 10x CD-RW" and a maximum read speed of "8x DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-ROM; 6x DVD-ROM (double layer DVD-9), DVD-R DL (double layer), DVD+R DL (double layer), DVD-RW, and DVD+RW; 24x CD".
