I am trying to work out how to set up my keyboard so i can cut/copy and paste more than one item at a time. e.g. at present i have to click on each item to do this. If i want to do 30 or 40 or more items it is very slow. Usually after highlighting 1 item then holding the shift key down and clicking on another this highlights the whole group of items. It seems to be something in my mouse/keyboard setup that i cant seem to find?

You can mark a range of items by clicking the first one, holding shift and marking the last one.
To mark items that are not together, hold the Command key and click on each one.
Thanks but I have tried this, but it is not working at all...When i click on the second item it only highlights that one as well as the first one, leaving all other items unmarked?
By the way sorry but, the hold shift key thing does work fine for my mail items when I want to delete or move multiple emails?
Holding shift to mark a range works in email or in Finder's folder list. Then you can delete, copy, move the range of marked items.
Unfortunately what you have told me lets me know how it should work and doesnt offer a solution to the fact that it doesnt work on my Mac.
