Q: Having an issue with my IPad and IPhone trying to update  my Apps from the Apps store?

I am having a problem with my IPad and Iphone trying to do My Apps updates via the App Store. I see the # of 4 updates in red showing, but when i try to do the updates by hitting the "update button" I get an error message saying I can not connect to the iTunes store although I am signed in already?

Anyone had the same problem?

thx,

Max

Try logging out of your account on the iPad (and simiarly iPhone) by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.

If that doesn't solve it then I've also seen suggested going into Settings > General > Date & Time and change the date to a few months in the future and then re-trying.

If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime or Camera being set 'off' ?

If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

ok thanks I will check again my restrictions.

I have done several reboots as well via reset holding both buttons down until the apple appears. nothing worked. I just checked my iPhone restrictions and FaceTime is on as well as the Camera. I tried using my apple ID to sign into FaceTime and it goes to verifying then back to the sign in page....going back and forth and the app is nowhere to be found on my iPhone. I have succeeded to pass the sign-in screen under FaceTime however it says waiting for activation?

And under my phone number it says verifying?? Any idea why there is no app still on the phone?

You've tried searching for it via the spotlight search screen ? Also how many homescreens do you have on the phone - there is a limit of 11 after which apps are only accessile via the search screen.

yes search spotlight search, nothing. then all of a sudden my spotlight search stopped working nothing more came up that I was searching for?? I had all items checked...apps, music, mail, etc....the screen is just black it wont search?

strange. think my phone is either controlled or infected with something is that possible?

    thanks dude

I'm not aware of any viruses or malware for iOS devices (except for jailbroken devices), but it might be a software bug.

Try closing all apps via the taskbar and then do another a reset and see if that helps. To close all app : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.

Reset as before i.e. press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
