My daughter has an iPod touch running an iOS version 4.something. It doesn't seem to see any more updates and iTunes says it has the latest OS. How can I iOS 5.1.1 on the iPod touch?

I think the discussion subject line says it all... Hopefully there's a simple trick that I need to know.

There would be no opportunity to install iOS 5 if your daughter uses an 1st or 2nd generation iPod touch, because they are not supported. See also: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4962
