Problems with animations created in Edge and implemented in iBooks Author

Hello everybody,

at the moment we are producing a childrens' book with full-page animations which were created in Adobe Edge. Now different problems with these widgets have occurred in the ibook on iPad:

Some animations are only played sometimes after the user has touched the widget, others always functioning without problems. The problem can be temporarily solved if the reader flips a few pages back or forth.
There are other animations which can be activated as often you want and others are only shown once.
Another problem is the implementation of sound. We have already implemented sound in the Edge file and on websites it is possible to play the sound. But when implemented in iBooks Author, the sound cannot be played.

We would be very pleased if anybody can help.

If you have a question about working with third party tools, suggest you ask on the third party's forums.

In the end tho, I think you'll be best served by moving to increase compatibility via DashCode widgets and sticking closer to Apple's implementations, etc.

Check out page 9 in the An iBuild Opportunity Sample (it's free). Some of the NETS speak when tapped and some just provide info. It is a sample of having sound work only when the reader taps in certain places.

Noting no response, I think it's safe to assume this thread was just a marketing ploy by yet another adobe shill. Just as well, given the news that edge is being abandoned.

Thank you very much for this information. I've already asked this information in the Adobe Edge forum, but I thought that in the Apple community there might be somebody who was confronted with the same problem and who was able to solve it...

If you think, your assumptions are safe, like you thought this one was, maybe you should rethink your way of assuming things ;o)

Natalie just wanted to be helpful.

Nevertheless, thanks for the link. I searched for a solution to suppress the flashing when loading a widget.

I'm creating a children's book with full page animated widgets using AdobeEdge and am having some of the same troubles you mention in your post. Were you able to resolve your issues?
