When will Apple support RAW for Sony's DSC RX100 in iphoto?

Sony's site says that Raw images can be imported into iphoto 11, but when I shoot RAW+JPEG and try to do an import iphoto will import the jpegs but not the RAW images. The RX100 doesn't show up on Apple's supported cameras list. Does any one know a free alternative as I have just spent around $40 to purchase I-life 11 and that is not working.
