App store icon missing on my iPad

Likely Restrictions are on the for App store. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions. If on it is passcode protected.

If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps being set 'off' ?

If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

My App Store icon was frozen: it displayed a summary of a particular app, but I could not get rid of this, or get back to the basic App Store screen.

I found your post and tried the suggested solution of re-booting. It worked.

I Tried all of these. It says my restrictions are off, I can't even get them to activate. Rebooting didn't work. Any other suggestions out there?

If you can't find the App Store app, and if you don't have restrictions hiding the app, is it a work or school iPad ? Or do you have a work (e.g. Exchange) email account or profile installed that might be hiding it ?

It is a work tablet, but there aren't any restrictions on it. We all have the same setup and the rest of the tablets have the App Store still available.

There are no profiles installed on the iPad, there isn't a section in Settings ? And if you have a work email account set up on the iPad there isn't anything different about your account ? Have you spoken to your company's IT department ?

I Have a bit. The people I have spoken with were not sure why it is gone. There are no profiles on it, and mine is supposed to be the same as the others.
