Hello,
My new iPad 2 has the image retention/ghosting problem when displaying something on screen (even for a short time), then changing to another view like homescreen. Example: If I play a game for 5 minutes, I press the Home button to go to homescreen, some elements of the game would still appear ghostly on the homescreen. Is there any way to fix this?
PS: I cannot get a replacement.

Okay, but can it be actually fixed?
It's impossible to tell based on this what the issue actually is. It could be hardware, or not.
One thing you can try is a reset. It may not help, but worth trying and won't hurt anything.
Simultaneoisly hold down the On and Home buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it should appear. Once shut down is complete, turn the iPad back on.
I tried a factory restore but the problem still persists.
Could those "White screen for long time" or "Fast RGB color switch" work as fixes?
Don't know. I beleive those were directed to a user with an iMac, not an iPad.
I've had my ipad 2 about 8 months and am just starting to notice some image retention in certain apps. The worst is safari. You can see the search bar, it's annoying and if it gets worst I plan on taking it back before my year warranty is up.
