Q: On iPad 3, after several months of flawless iCloud usage, suddenly Numbers file wont upload. On LTE nor wifi.

I have tried shutting down, turning iCloud off in Numbers, and no luck. If I shut off iCloud completely, do I lose any work? These are work files, and not replaceable. How do I make the upload arrows go away? It has been days now of trying all kinds of locations, wifi to no avail.

If you log out of iCloud completely, all your documents will be reinstated when you log back in.

It sounds to me as though the document has become corrupt. You can try and download it from one device or another, however this may be unsuccessful.

Whilst it won't help you recover documents that have already become corrupt, can I suggest you get into the habit of backing up your documents in the cloud regularly.

Thanks Winston Churchill- I will log out/ turn off iCloud- knowing the files are in icloud is kinda good, but of course the work of the last couple of days will be gone, as the files are not uploading.

All the important stuff is backed up to Dropbox thru the day, I will do so with all the rest too.  When I open them in Excel from Dropbox, or in Number on my PBP, they are perfect.  And the issue occurs with any file I use in the iPad- no longer able to upload themselves to iCloud. So far it is about 8 documents.

I think I will double check my Dropbox backups, get out of iCloud and start over. It will be interesting to see what remains in iCloud.  I can always delete all the files in the iPad, knowing my Dropbox versions are fine.

I'm not aware you can save documents edited or created on your mobile device to dropbox.

I use DropDav to do so. Slow, but sure. The path is via the share button, the WebDav icon. Good way to access data like presentations.
