You can run Windows Media Player and Real Player, but you cannot use their browser plug-ins because neither comes as a universal binary. The players themselves, however, will run through Rosetta. In place of Windows Media Player you can use Flip4Mac which will play WMP files through Quicktime PLayer.

Other types of media players are available such as DivX (for DVDs), but like the others not yet available as universal binaries.

You CAN get Flip4Mac to run on an intel iMac by running Safari under Rosetta.

Here's how it's done:

1. Download Flip4Mac
2. Browse to Applications>Utilities>Installer
3. Right click / Control click and select "Get Info"
4. Click "Open Using Rosetta" (You will only use this setting temporarily)
5. You can now install the Flip4Mac.pkg
6. "Get Info" for Installer and unselect "Open Using Rosetta"

Now, to be able to use Flip4Mac in Safari:

1. Browse to Applications>Safari
2. Right click / Control click and select "Get Info"
3. Click "Open Using Rosetta"

I find that you don't want to run programs under rosetta when you don't have to so I duplicated my copy of Safari and renamed it "Safari Rosetta" which is set to run under Rosetta. This means you aren't always bogged down by running Safari under rosetta all the time.

Hope that helps!
Jess
