5.1 Surround System advice

Hi there,

I want to get my computer (Mac Pro, 3.33ghz 6-core Intel, 12GB RAM, 10.8.1) ready for 5.1 surround sound monitoring using Soundtrack Pro (Studio 2) and I need some advice on what kind of hardware (sound-card / mixer/speakers) I should get. I have a buget of US$2500 for everything.

I looked into the M-Audio Pro-Fire 610 but apparently it's been discontinued... is it going to work? I would really appreciate if you guys could give me some recommendations (speakers and mixing board as well!).
