I've figured out how to import the avchd files to iPhoto 11 and they play on my mac, but when I try to sync my photos from my mac to my ipad (3) it will sync them. It does sync footage recorded with my iPhone 4s though, any suggestions (and just for the record: I want rhem on my ipad so that I can edit in imovie for ipad) ?
Mac OS X (10.6.6)
Not an iPhoto question so much as an iMovie for iOS one, but I don't believe that app works with AVCHD

Thank you Terence, you're a legend - it was just the right answer- but really an issue mac should solve themselves instead of having people spending their time figuring out workarounds to what should have been a pretty simple task. Thanks again!
