The 13" screen. The extra 2 inches makes a big difference.
If the 11" were something that would be right for you, you would already know it. Otherwise, opt for the 13".
I have both, and the 11" is only for very specific purposes, not for daily use.
I use the 11". I do a fair amount of travelling for work and it is perfect for that.
There's really only one way to know if the 11" is right for you - find one and use it. Less than 5 minutes with the 11" clearly told me I needed the 13" model.
The 11" is small but for email, web browsing, non-development stuff it serves it's purpose. It's the ultimate in portability.
I have and love the 13"... one of the key features I loved was that the resolution was that of a 15" screen.
I remotely log into other computers for work and I don't have to do any unnecessary scrolling.
Just my two cents.
If you plan on traveling go with the 11" (this is what I use and love it)
If you will only use it around the house or office, go with the 13"
Remember that even if you go with an 11" or 13" you can still keep an external monitor at your home and or office and just plug it in when you need a bigger screen. This is what I did for years with my macbook pro.
Even with my 27" iMac I use dual screens.
While I currently own a 13", I have extensively used the 11 inch in the past and it is more than enough real estate for me even to photo and video edit as well as use the Internet extensively and accomplish every day tasks.
When you say you use the 11" for travel...do you take only this laptop, or is this a secondary machine?
Hi, I take my Macbook Air and an IPAD everywhere I go. The IPAD is for entertainment and the laptop is so I can get work done. The 11" air does everything I need and is my main machine for all of my work. It just so happens it also travels really well. It fits on the try table on a airplane, and that is a plus for me.
I use my 27" iMac at home (home office) for work while I am at my desk etc.
I use my 11" MBA for when I am doing stuff on the couch and when traveling. I do bring my iPad Mini with me while traveling. But I use the iPad Mini mainly for wathing movies and doing some light web browsing etc.
Bottom Line:
iMac when at home 90% of the time
11" MBA while traveling. I have an i7 and this thing is powerful.
I just bought my wife the 13" MBA and I am so glad I went with the 11" cause its so much smaller and easier to travel with.
