MacBook Pro won't wake from sleep with Bluetooth Keyboard or Magic Trackpad

I have a late 2010 13" MBP running Mountain Lion. It's mounted in a Henge Dock, connected to my 23" monitor.

Every night I put the MBP to sleep by hitting CMD-OPTION-EJECT on the Apple Bluetooth keyboard.

Lately, some mornings, it won't wake back up when I hit a key on the keyboard. The Magic Trackpad won't wake it either.

Because it's in the dock it's a pain to remove it, open it, hit the power button, close it and re-dock it.

I have found that I can plug a USB mouse into the USB extension cable that the Henge Dock uses and that will wake it up.

I'm not sure but I think this started before Mountain Lion came out.

Any thoughts why this is happening or an easier way that I can wake it when it does?

I am having the same problem as well and it is frustrating! I purchased a hengedock docking station for my late 2009 model MBP. I connected a keybboard and a mouse to the dock but I am unable to wake my MBP. All literature states that I should connect all the peripherals first then close the lid. Whats the point of that? Obviously since it docks on its side I am unable to open and close my MBP (which is the point of having a docking station). This should be a simple issue.

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro 13 inch and also purchased the Hengedock and am also having the same issue. I cannot wake up the MBP with either Bluetooth or wired keyboards. When I disconnect all the Hengedock cables and plug in directly my monitor will work once I open, wake up and then close the lid. Of course as stated above I do not have that option when docked.

I am having the same problem on a 2009 13" MacBook. I've reset the SMC as well as the PRAM. This is a fresh install of Mountain Lion. I was NOT having this trouble in Lion. I can tell that the MacBook has awakened, but the backlight has not turned on.) I've found that if I disconnect and reconnect the power adapter, it seems to jolt the backlight on. If not, I have to close the lid, wait a few seconds, then reopen it. It's very annoying.

I've been dealing with this for almost a year...well after digging into forum after forum...I did find...

If you have aftermarket memory, this is the issue...so i luckily kept my OEM RAM, put it back in and voila!!! It wakes up from sleep...dont understand why...but yes the aftermarket ram worked find...tested fine, but the mackbook did not like going to sleep with this in it.

So now i have to find out why aftermarket memory doesnt work...
