Software update without using mouse
My mac desktop has ceased to detect my bluetooth mouse. I want to try updating software - is there any way of doing this using keyboard or voice commands?
macbook air, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

from the keyboard, use keys: COMMAND + SPACEBAR to open the SPOTLIGHT, type: "terminal" press the RETURN KEY on your keyboard, type in: "sudo softwareupdate -i -a" , type your system password. After that it will automatically start the software update, and execute any updates required, again this CAN TAKE TIME.
