Flash Player isn't working with Safari even though i have the latest versions of both

I cannot get Flash to work with Safari running 10.8.5. It worked before I upgraded. The only work around I have found is to use Chrome. Silverlight on Chrome allows me to watch videos I cannot access on Safari. The errror messages are not helpful. I have followed but have not been successful.

I have a similar problem, installed upgrade for Flash because YOUTube said there was a "plug-in failure" and I can't play any clips. I am running Lion on an iMac, and have subsequently installed Chrome which lets me watch youTube clips without any trouble. I would like to get Safari working again.--- have tried resetting Safari, and also deleting and reinstalling Flash, but no luck.
