Install software a second time

I'm a 25+ year PC user and I recently moved to an Apple Macbook Pro to run Pro Tools. The Macbook is devoted exclusively to music production, nothing else.

So, here's a simple question. If I install a piece of software, then a month later I install the same piece of software again without unistalling it first, assuming no problems with the original install, it was running fine, didn't need to be reinstalled, I just did it anyways...will I create any problems? What should I know about this? Anything?

Any help would be much appreciated?
