imac working slow

to all readers,


first I got a error code: Panic Error code 88, seams that the harddisk was braking down. Harddisk replaced by Appel autorised technician.

After restoring the system its working very slow.


Used disk program to check the drive, no problems.


What else can I do to find out what the problem is.


Configuration of the mac is:


266 core I5

ram 16gb 1067 ddr3

grapiccard atiradeon hd 4850 512mb


Lion 10.7.4


Harddrive westerdigital black 2tb

if you open Spotlight ( command key + spacebar ) , if you search for something like: "Disk Utility" - does it pull up a list, or stall? When integrating a new HardDisk, your computer has to index to function properly. It shouldn't take to long to fully index, but after - I promise, you will enjoy the system much more!
