How do I manage local device storage in Settings? I get a message that I do not have enough local storage when attempting to update Apps, and need to manage local storage.

How do I manage local device storage in settings? I know how to get into Settings, of course, but not how to proceed beyond that. Thanks.

Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show All Apps. You will see a list of all of your apps. You can delete apps in there if that is what you really want to do.

If you need to, you can also delete all music and videos.

You may want to take care deleting items. If you backup with iTunes or iCloud you should be OK, but depending in where you live, you may not be able to download some of that content again for free.

Go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage and check to see how much storage you have used.

If you are deleting apps and other content, something about that message doesn't seem right to me. What are you trying to do when you get this message? Take photos? Shoot a video?

Try quitting the camera app completely and restart the iPad. See if the message goes away.

Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus ➖ sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.

Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

I have tried this, I am trying to get the game 'FIFA SOCCER 13 by EA SPORTS' it is 99 cents and i have 5.04 credit, the game is 1.34 GB and i have 3.4 GB being used and 3.0GB Available, and when i hit 'BUY APP' it says "Cannot Download; There is not enough local storage to download FIFA SOCCER 13 by EA SPORTS". You can manage your local device storage usage in settings." but clearly i have enough room for it.

I have an iPad 2 16 GB. I have the NOTION app (my Settings says that it's 1.6 GB in size) and there is an update out for it. I click "Update", and I get a notice that says, "There is not enough local storage to download "NOTION". You can manage your local device storage usage in Settings." This still pops up, even though I have 2.5 GB of free space on the iPad. Does anyone know how to fix this?
