Hi Jim,

Per Rogers comments above - when I checked your account there were no keywords entered for the Show (Channel) Level and Episode (Item) Level keywords.

To enter in the Keywords for the show level - when you log into your libsyn account - click on the gears icon next to your artwork in the upper left. Then enter your keywords / tags and click save.

For Keywords for your episodes - you will need to go click Edit for each episode in the episode list and one episode at a time add in the keywords.

If you put yourself into the "Advanced" editing mode - and then go to "Description" you will see the place for editing the keywords near the lower right. Click on "Tags / Keyword" and enter you keywords in the box below and then click on Publish when you are done.

Please note it may take up to a week for the changes to be reflected in search results in iTunes. And even then search results are sorted based on the all time number of subscribers your show has in iTunes.

So to better place yourself in the search results you need to increase the number of subscribers you have via iTunes.

Good Luck,

thanks Rob for that information. I am blind and use a screen reader but it wont read that gears icon. i will have to wait for help from a friend. what is the difference between keywords for eposodes and keywords for the show itself? if i have a given keyword in the keywords for the show only, will the show pop up as one of the results in an itunes search? i dont care how high i am up on the list. just will i show up? or, is it also necessary to have a list of keywords for every show?

First off keywords and tags - are NOT the most importany criteria for search results in iTunes. But they are one of the criteria. And once you add in keywords - it will likely take a week or so to see any difference in search results.

The difference between keywords for the show level and episode level - are per where you will be mentioned in search results.

Apple will show first results for show level matches.

But in iTunes there are also matches for individual episodes.

When you do a search for "Limbaugh" per your comments above - it will show in the Podcasts box on iTunes 3 shows to start and then below that it will show "Podcast Episodes"

So if you also want your episodes to show up in the Podcat Episodes list - then you would want the key words added at the epsiode level as well.
