Improve Multi-Monitor and Fullscreen?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to improve the usefulness of fullscreen and maximised applications in a multi-monitor environment.

Two big issues: one being that putting apps in full-screen renders the other screen completely useless, and the second being that maximising the windows (+/green button) works fine in Mail for example, but there is no application toolbar at the top like on the primary display and also replying to emails pops open the compose email window back on the primary monitor. Really stupid.

Any way to improve these things, or is this another "I wish Apple would work on this..." type "feature"?
