Q: not on internet and need java runtime

I am trying to run options Xpress on my macbook pro(using Lion) and when I click on streaming charts I get an error saying I am not connected to the internet and that I need to run connect to the internet and run java runtime.  I checked with OptionsXpress and they said they had many mac users that did not have this problem so I would need to find out from Apple what is going on.  I have checked my safari preferences and have enable plug-ins, enable java and enable java script all checked.  any ideas?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Have you indeed installed Java? It's not installed by default in OS X 10.7 Lion. If your system on which you need Java cannot be connected to the Internet, you should be able to download the installer on another computer and copy the installer over to your primary system.

If that update won't install directly, download this one:

install it, and then run the newer update.

If a "not connected to Internet" error persists after installing Java, that's a different problem probably not connected with Java.
