Apple Repair and Service Coverage: Active?

Does this mean Apple will repair/replace my iPod for free if i send it in to get serviced? It is less than a year old, but the battery doesn't hold a charge and my iPod won't turn on. Btw, I don't have the reciept anymore.

iPod classic, Windows 7

You shouldn't need the receipt as Apple just ules the iPod's serial number as way to determine if the iPod still has an active warranty in effect.

And yes, they'll swap it out for you at no cost if they deem the issues to be the result of a manufacturing defect and not user abuse or misue. Otherwise, you'll need to have pay to have it replaced.
