Hello, I have snow leopard 10.6.8. I've been trying to read other people's documents in another yahoo group I belong to and the pages icon
comes up on my dashboard. Then a notice pops up regarding iWork. I've never had iWork. How do I go about getting it? Do I have to
purchase it and install it myself or can it be downloaded? Thanks so much, Susan

iWork is available on the App Store and consists of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. These are equivalent to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint respectively. They are $20 a piece and can be downloaded from the App Store. I hope this helps you.

Be aware that iWork '09 (the latest version) requires OS X 10.7.4 or later. Since you said you're running 10.6.8, you're not going to be able to run it. I haven't been able to find a way to download (and buy) a version that runs on 10.6.8, since Apple no longer provides access to the older version.
iWork '09 from the DVD works fine in 10.6.8 (and in 10.5.8).
Problem is the DVDs are now only available from Amazon MP, eBay and the like.
