Find My Bookmarks and Bookmark folders

My wife got a new macbook. She went to her one-on-one and they setup iCloud. I did not know this was happening. After she returned home I looked at my calendar and her calendar was showing on my computer. Looked good as we could see what each was doing without always asking. I told her it was a good idea. Made a few minor changes so things would work better. Later I went to use Safari. Most of my Bookmark folders were gone and replaced with her Bookmarks. I ask if she had done anything with them and she said yes they were in her way so she pushed them to the side. Asked what that ment and she could not really answer so do not know what she did. So I am looking for my bookmarks and folders. I can find Bookmark.plist under Go menu, in the Finder, under Library using the option key but it looks like this_ UMount Townsend: Tourists' most wanted hotspots on Google Maps, analyzing Social Media‘ ± ≤ ≥_ $30EEB112-DB6D-4C3A-9D08-349D1A97FCD2_ 1http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/mount-townsend— ¥o .Mount Townsend Washington Trails Association‘ ∂ ∑ ∏_ $56E06ADE-B55E-4D69-A52A-BE77537903A8_ @http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fsbdev3_053547.pdf— ∑‘ ∫ ª º_ $7108D175-0240-4B47-BCF8-30759085D9C5_ <http://www.oregontruffles.org/

and it appears to be both her and my bookmarks.

Is there a way to get my bookmarks back in their folders to my safari page? Can I turn off iCloud and go to my backup harddrive and somehow get them? Or is there an easier way?
