Feb 19, 2014 3:29 PM in response to Dave Simpleby kate1111,If the problem is ethernet related, why does it happen on a MacBook Air, which doesn't have an ethernet port? I can't add one in my system.

While in App Store, go to "Store" at the menu bar. Click "Sign out". Sign in as your account then downloads should work. I had this same problem and found this solution. Hopefully this helps!

Feb 12, 2015 5:39 AM in response to OlofMorkby jjjeb,My app store had that problem as well, "Unknown Error" kept coming up. I actually went to 'Store' and signed out of the previous account, and voila, it worked!!! Hopefully that works for anyone else?

Mar 12, 2015 1:10 AM in response to OlofMorkby juggernauts,Hi Gus,
Had same problem on my Mac.
Here is what fixed my problem:
1. Changed to another country (I am in Israel, and I changed to the USA store).
2. Clicked "Get" on the app I wanted.
3. Got a message stating that my Apple ID cannot be used in the USA store, and that I would be redirected to my store.
4. After I got redirected, searched for the app again, and clicked "Get".
5. App installed fine. Later apps (I tried before and failed) are now installing fine!
Hope this helps!

Nov 12, 2015 11:58 AM in response to steforsterby cleopete,This saved me a lot of misery, thanks. Apple should probably quit hiring robots, clearly the App Store rep further up the thread had no idea what we're talking about: instructions for signing into the store is just insulting. Much as I love my six year old MBP (this problem was with an iMac) I am pretty much done with Apple. If there is truly a ****, then Steve Jobs is trying to run an eternal stream of iPads through Configurator 2 right now!

Restart the Mac.
Log back into App Store.
All Updates now work great.
