I have a Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard. It got a problem with its charger. It stopped charging and i have a doubt that the charger burnt out as it was smelling after i noticed that it was not working.
Its not in warranty now.
I want to know whether apple will replace the charger in this problem, repair it, or I have to buy a new one?
Please help.

Have you checked your socket voltage ?
Is it the right charger Watt Model for your MB ?
I am asking, because I have also had several chargers for many years and never had even an overheating also after 1,5 days of continuous use.
Yes, it is the original charger that i got at MB purchse time, so thats the right charger watt model.
I dont know about the socket voltage, but it was working perfect for the last 1.5 years in the same socket.
So, what should I do?

Buy a new one.
Be sure about the right power and check your socket with a simple voltage tester.
Some places have sometimes fluctuation in voltage.

Yes. if it is smelling bad it must have burnt out. I resolved my problem by purchasing a new one. If it is not in the warranty period, then you should not waste your time and just buy a new one.
