Keyboard shortcuts don't work in Motion 3

I am using Motion 3 and have noticed that the F2 F3 F4 F5 all of the keyboard shortcuts do not work. They simply perform the functions on the Mac, that they were intended, F2 decreases screen brightness etc..

Anyone know why?

I am using FCP Studio 2.

Go into System Preferences, to Keyboard preferences. There is a check box to use Function keys as icon keys or F keys natively. You can always use the Fn key to get the alternative functioning at any time, too.

Ben,

I am on my MacBook Pro and did not see "Use Function keys as icon keys, or F keys natively".

There was a selection that is already listed with no choice to select or deselect it. But still my F keys don't work with Motion. I have no problme with FCP Sutdio.
