Q: Air Port Express~

Okay...this kinda look like a stupid question...but I was thinking the Airport express was like Apple TV..with a WiFi connection to you internet. Is this true or does it have to have a cable to my Wifi router.

I was just wanting to use this at the other end of the house so I could have a stronger WIFI signal outside. It's pointless if it's got to be hooked into my router. Am I missing something??

You can use your Airport Express at the other end of your house, but you will need a base station. I am not sure if you can do with any router, but certainly you can share with another Airport Extreme.

    Good Luck.

You want the AirPort Express to "extend a wireless network" to provide more wireless coverage..using wireless only....,but it can only do this if it is connected to another Apple router.

The "extend" feature is an Apple to Apple function. It would be extremely unlikely that it would work with another brand.
