Hello, what exactly happens when you tried c key?

What happens if you hold Option or alt key on bootup?

If you're using a wireless Keyboard, you may need a USB KB or System Preferences?Startup Disk, & choose the CD/DVD Install Disc.

    Hi

When I tried to hold 'c' key, system is not restarting. It is showing busy symbol.

When I tried alt key, I can only see hard disk. Unable to see installation CD although CD inside.

I am not using any wire less key board.

    Kindly help

Does the Install disc show & have contents when booted from your Hard Drive?

If I inserted the CD inside after reboting, I can see the contents inside. However, if I follow instructions- utilities - restart - system will go into restart mode but not restarting as long as CD inside.

Is this a grey disk you are using? How many disks did you get with your Mac Pro?. If it was just the one, in small print does it say Mac OS X version 10.6.3 DVD, for example?

Have you booted from this disk in the past to know it works, or is this the first time?

Also, the timing is; on Restart, when the Chime sounds press the C key and keep holding down until the apple logo appears.

If you are wanting to Install Leopard you say, but your profile says you are on 10.6.8. I don't think you can install an older version over what you now have.

grey disk comes along with Macbook and it is 10.6.3. There are two CDs with me- install DVD and application CD-and I am installing for the first time.

In this case, if I cant install older version- what should I do?

There is not much to work with, Suresh.

For all we know it may have never worked, or it may be the wrong grey disk for your MacBook. You have done pretty well to go this long without requiring its use.

Two months ago I would have said buy another disk, the coloured retail 10.6 DVD with the image of the Snow Leopard. They used to be about $30, however finding one is now as difficult as finding a real one in the Himalaya.

If you live in the US, the 10.6 DVD can be ordered over the phone. Other countries… hard to say.

Essentially, I would question the disk,

which implies trying another 10.6.3 DVD that you know works,

or equally, inserting the one you have into another Mac just to see if that other Mac can see it, but not to proceed, just to see if it registers as bootable, using the alt/Option key during the startup phase.
