Sep 2, 2012 12:55 AM in response to Ben Dansbyby fox_m,From the Render menu, turn off Dynamic and switch to Best quality.
If you're still having problems, you can fix the points of all shapes from the Inspector: Shapes > Geometry > Control Points and take off the decimal values for all of the points. (All those numbers are editable.)
You might, in the long run, prefer to get used to having the resolution a little soft in order to retain a better playback framerate (Motion 5 often struggles being 32-bit all the time...) In FCPX, the quality is always best; otherwise, the quality only counts when you export a project (and you can set the Render settings from the export dialog.)

Sep 2, 2012 10:08 AM in response to Ben Dansbyby Ben Dansby,Thanks for the suggestions, guys, but my render quality is set to best and and the resolution is full. Setting the position and point coordinates to full pixels didn't help either

Your Project is NOT an interlaced format?
And, just to mention it:

Sep 2, 2012 12:10 PM in response to Ben Dansbyby Ben Dansby,My setup is: Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1), Early 2008, 2.8 GHz, 10 GB RAM. Should be enough to handle some squares, no?
My project is not interlaced, and it doesn't matter if I export or do a ram preview. I don't know guys, I make a brand new project, draw a square, and its edges are soft. i have no such issues in After Effects.

Sep 2, 2012 1:23 PM in response to David M Brewerby Ben Dansby,Exporting doesn't help. Here is my project: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3462104/flyout.zip
Do the shapes have a hard edge for you? Or can you make them hard? This is not a huge deal, but I like my squares crisp Thanks for your help.

Sep 2, 2012 2:29 PM in response to Ben Dansbyby David M Brewer,You canvas is 400x300, what your seeing is a low rez... can't fix that.
Below 400x300 canvas...
Below, when you blow up the cavas to look at the boxes this is what you see.
Below, boxes enlarge to fit in 1080p canvas.
For some reason I couldn't embed the 1080p video... Click on the the beloe link for video...

Sep 2, 2012 2:52 PM in response to Ben Dansbyby fox_m,this project is so small it's hard to see on a 1920x1080 screen (400 x 300). If your canvas is viewing at > 150% so you can see what you're doing, you have to expect blurred edges. Try changing your project to 1440 x 1080 [Select Project layer and in the Properties inspector, change width to 1440 height to 1080] and those rectangle edges sharpen right up. Now, the only problem you'll have is with the cursor images being blown up. I see at least one of them is from an Illustrator project ("regular selection normal.ai) You don't need to do anything with that one EXCEPT:
Go to the Media tab
Select that image
In the Inspector > Media --- ***uncheck*** fixed resolution and that cursor will be ultra crisp as well.
Export your project @ Current Settings (it will be 1440x1080 square pixel res) and use QT7Pro to resize to the destination you require or if you have Compressor, export using compressor.
BTW -- Rectangle 3 (I think [I turned it off so I don't remember exactly]) has a Feather of 2px on it.
