If you mean home sharing where the music is streamed from a computer to a device via your wifi network without actually copying the music onto the device then you can't do that between iOS devices - that only works from a computer to a device or to another computer.
If the music isn't on the computer's iTunes that you sync the iPad to then you can copy that music from the iPod to your computer's iTunes (if your husband's account is authorised on your computer) via File > Transfer Purchases, and you can then sync it to your iPad. Or you could then use home sharing from your computer's iTunes to the iPad if you don't want the music to be stored on the iPad.

Setting up home sharing on a device : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4557 - the page is a bit out of date, on iOS 5 you set it up via Settings > Music (not Settings > iPod), and the shared library will then appear under the More button in the device's Music app
