Intermittent WiFi issues on new iPad 3.

Hi.

I got my iPad 3 Wifi + cellular yesterday, brand new from my network.

After setting it up I started to use the WiFi in order to install the apps I wanted to from the app store. During this, my iPad disconnected several times from the router and then I had to reconnect it when the Wireless signal popped up again.

I am very near to the router, so it is not due to anything blocking it. My router is a Netgear WGT624v3 running the latest firmware (it is not a 'N' supporting router however).

I have no troubles like this with any of my laptops or iPhones in the house, and so have deduced it is a problem within the iPad itself.

Thanks,

Sam.

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304

iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199

Additional things to try.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Ditto here Sam, I have a new iPad it's about two weeks old, I'm having problems staying connected to Wi-Fi plus I'm having issues with glitches when opening up music and iTunes, keyboard glitches, black boxes when internet screens develope. Had to force restart after it locked up twice in the last two weeks. I have had albums come up missing from my music and had to re-download them from iCloud. Is there a quick fix to this problem or do I need to take this back to Best Buy?

I have an iPad3 with wifi+celullar. The intermitent connection started with update to 6.0.1

I followed the instructions and have some improvement with changing router to chanel 6 and security to wap personal with AES. However this is not the same as it was before the update. The iPad went from amazing to a lemon. I cannot connect with BOX to get files, Netflix is unuseable, It's just horribly slow. Another issue is that I cannot connect at Starbucks with either iPad or iPhone since the device connects to the network but it doesn't open the welcome page from the network anymore so it is impossible to connect. If this continies like this I guess I have to give up on iPad and this is just upseting because i reallly love it but there is no use to a machine that cannot keep connection to the wireless network. I have 4 iPads at home the iPad1 connects fine but the other 3 from myself and my kids have the same issues. I have a new Cisco router and see no reason to have these problems but a serious software glitch from Apple. Please fix this quick
