Where is the gear icon?
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4)
Could you please elaborate?
We cannot see your Mac, and have no idea from your description if this is a philosophical question, or if you are stuck somewhere in the boot-up sequence, or you want a copy of an icon for a creative project.
Exactly which iMac you have also makes a difference.
It's a 27 inch, Mid 2011 Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 Is that all the info you need to determine which IMac it is?
I downloaded updates to my computer and my Yahoo email account no longer has the checkbox below "delete" to delete multiple emails. After going to Yahoo, it gave suggestioins to click on the IMac gear icon and then onto Preferences, etc. I can't find the gear icon though, to begin.
Are you using a Web Browser to look at your Yahoo mail, or a Mail program (which one), or something else?
I just open a new window in Safari and go to Yahoo Mail.

Safari > Preferences > Advanced:
