Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

anurita, i think the proplem is into the charger cable not the device so try buying a new one - and is the ipad didn`t turn on since you have bought it ?
