unhide devices

ITunes 10.5.5.3 on Windows Vista Ultimate, and a laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate. I connect my IPhone 4S or IPod and it recognizes them every time - Great! ITunes in general works great.

HOWEVER, If I hide Devices, I can't Unhide/Show. The word Devices goes away completely. I have gone through every menu (File, Edit, View.. etc..) and there is no option to Show Devices. This happens on both the PC and the laptop so it's not just the OS causing the issue (unless it's Windows in general) The only way to get Itunes to show it again is to unplug them from the computer, wait a few seconds and reconnect.

Is this an "undocumented feature" or is it a bug in the software for Windows? Is there an easy fix for this???

For those of you who say "Don't Hide the Devices" well... the first time, it was accidental. The second time I was just trying to clean up the left menu - and then noticed I couldn't "Show" devices again. I figured it was the PC.... so I disconnected the phone, connected it to the laptop, and clicked Hide on the menus I didn't want to see. Then again, when I went to Show devices, the Devices menu option had disappeared. This also happens when I have the IPod connected. All the videos and support options I found online said to reinstall, check for this, check for that. I did all that and STILL if you hide the Devices, you CANT UNHIDE/SHOW. According to all documentation/support info/forums information, you should still at lease SEE THE DEVICES menu option there. But NOT on my stuff.
